The MQ-3 Predator is a medium-altitude, long-endurance, remotely piloted aircraft. The MQ-3's primary mission is interdiction and conducting armed reconnaissance against critical, perishable targets. When the MQ-3 is not actively pursuing its primary mission, it acts as the Joint Forces Air Component Commander-owned theater asset for reconnaissance, surveillance and target acquisition in support of the Joint Forces commander. Skills Lets now take a look at its skills: Laser Designator Reduces target unit's armor by 5 and grants you vision of that unit. Lasts 3 minutes. Extremely useful in tracking down target on the long run, and weakening them. This Laser Designator outperforms the Delta Forces and Force Recons Laser Designator, having the best armor penalty and duration. Cluster Rockets Bombards an area with rockets, dealing damage with each rocket. This ability is leveled up by finding and equipping Hellfire Modules. Level 1 - 6 rockets, 300 damage per rocket Level 2 - 10 rockets, 400 damage per rocket Level 3 - 14 rockets, 500 damage per rocket Do not get quite excited though, those missiles only do half the actual damage on large targets. (900-2000-3500, respectively) It has a very short cooldown for a skill of this magnitude (Around fifteen seconds) and has a quite large AoE that increases with each Hellfire Upgrade Module(HFUM) that you find. Hellfire Upgrade Modules are dropped during the Surveillence Sentries Mission and the beginning of Chapter 2(Revelation/Delta). Note: The Hellfire rockets have a secondary explosion about a second after initial impact, which deals around 200 damage to units nearby. If you are caught in the blast, you will suffer 150 damage. ![]() Targeting an area for Cluster Rockets ![]() Cluster Rockets impact the target Stealth The Predator MQ-3 cloaks and remains invisible until it attacks or uses an ability. In order to maintain stealth, the UCAV is restricted to ground pathing. Lasts 30 seconds. This is one skill which I use the least. Although it gives a 30% movespeed bonus and is useful in avoiding detection by Class B and C hostiles, but most often, you are afraid of Class A flyers, and it's often ineffective as once a Class A sees you, you are vulnerable to the Class B and C land hostiles. Repair Repairs target mechanical unit. 1.5 hit points repaired per second. A staple in this strategy, it allows you to increase your chances of survival by about 300%. I will give a run down on it later. Please note that it is also usable on other Mechanical units, such as Bradley IFVs and Residence 41. Airstrike Calls in F-22 Raptors to neutralize targets in an area. Available on Chapter 3. This skill calls in F-22 Raptors to launch several missiles on the area which does an average of 5000 (farthest) to 40000 (closest) damage to blast radius. It has a 750 AoE. Surveillance Provides radar surveillance of the region. Detects Class A hostile movement up to a 5000 radius. You will be using it to detect those Gargoyles you are forever afraid of. It is also useful for detecting Devourers, whereby your teammates can be ready for them. Vital Signs and Ammunitions Count These are useful skills for supporting the team, and for prioritising items. These skills are much more useful to the squad than the Predator MQ-3 user. As such, players often neglect to use these skills. Periodic use is helpful to the squad, especially for determining squad members who are in need of attention. Using the Predator MQ-3 General: As stated at the beginning of this text, the UAV is very fragile. A few hits from Gargoyles will usually take you down. You should use your mobility and the fact that you are flying to your maximum. Use short bursts of repair(I.e. Move, Repair, Stop, Move) in order to heal when chased and repair whenever you are damaged and not being chased. Remember to stop if any hostiles come nearby. The Predator MQ-3 can use Fibrin Bandages. Use it to your advantage. When you are in critical health, and you spot a Fibrin nearby, get it, and shift click to another posistion so you do not stop and get hit by Gargoyles. You should use cliffs and rivers to your advantage: Drag down a creature down in the rivers, shoot it, when it come nearby, go back up. If there's too many creatures than you can handle, fly away and change rivers/hills and resume. A tip on ammunition: Your magazine size is very small. You usually have enough bullets for 5 seconds of shooting, and you have to wait for the reload, which is the reason why you should always keep your mana (bullets) counter filled. Whenever not engaged in fighting, or if you are running, reload(Hotkey Z-R). There is a Repair station to the east of the Airbase which will repair you faster and give you a +12 armor while repairing. Personally I feel it is a trap, as flying all the way there might kill you instead of helping you. Note: As mentioned above, each item taken will slow you down by 40 movement speed (ms). Out of around 325 movespeed, this hurts. Carrying equipment like the M240G and Chaingun components will slow you down even further. Keep your items down to a necessary minimum. ![]() Predator MQ-3 finds a Hellfire Upgrade Module Things you should do as Predator MQ-3 • Hunt zulus • Scout for items • Harass bosses • Killing spores • Destroying caves • Killing cocoons • Preparing bases • Preparing item pickup's for the team Things you shouldn't do as Predator MQ-3 • Engage the enemy head on • Repair yourself when being attacked Recommended items for Predator MQ-3: Benelli, -Transceiver- and Hellfire Upgrade Module. If your squad is still alive, run to them when chased by Gargoyles or use the Benelli RMS-8. Otherwise, store them somewhere safe for later use, as each item carried by the Predator MQ-3 decreases its movement speed.
