NOTD Aftermath August Update

NOTD Aftermath August Update
August has been one of the busiest months we've had recently in terms of map development and organizational restructuring. Azazel has now taken full control of Starlite's operational activities. |
|
We've been making a lot of progress in terms of quality and engine stability lately. You'll find our list of changes in this month's NOTD Aftermath 1.4b in our change log and complete change log at the Iron Hand forum.
The developments in Deathmatch have not been easy, and it will take months before something unique and competitive comes into fruitation. Dark Clouds is the latest sub-mission featured in Survival, and we intend to follow up with the concept in future alternate Chapter 2 titled Nightstalkers. There has been some healthy discussion going on about this new chapter in the Barracks forum. Some of the chapter's basic infrastructure in terms of terrain and trigger base have already been put into place and it is likely be released in NOTD Aftermath 1.4c.
We're recently been talking to some members of the press and exploring possibilities of being featured in some magazines and newsweeklies. Some doors opened, some closed. We're making progress and this process has also spurred us to develop deeper and more insightful work on NOTD Aftermath's history and Starlite's organizational structure and goals. There has been an extensive update in NOTD Aftermath's family of entries in the Starlite Databank. You'll find our link tree at the main page of the Databank and it's an essential read for those who want to know what goes on beyond the surface and all the zombie massacres.
NOTD Aftermath also celebrates its first birthday this month. We started off as a simple map known as NOTD Pies in August 2005, developed as a parody to Night of the Dead II. We've grown and developed over the past year and I am happy for the changes that have taken place. Right now, we're focusing on three main areas of development : storyline, deathmatch and graphics. I may decide to take a one month development break to further my studies on model editing and terraining for the long term benefit of NOTD Aftermath. Some of you may have hear that we would be changing our experience system in the future. It's a change that I feel can revitalize the community and amend for many of the early mistakes we've made in terms of experience and medal mechanics. It's not set in stone yet, and you are invited to have a say in this.
We're looking beyond just the survival genre now and it will become increasingly challenging over the next few months as we restructure certain areas of our organization. We're actively looking for staff in forum administration, graphics artists for the game as well as the website and people who can contribute to articles in contemporary events and politics.
