Squad mission: Patrol a hamlet close to Boston. Locate and terminate any Zulu's encounter. Contain the outbreak.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

20:00, May 16
In a small hamlet near Boston.

Two small Humvees passed through the calm forest.

-Another boring patrol in those woods, lieutenant? , said the driver.
-Yea. I hope we get another assignment soon, replied Lieutenant Carl Lewis.
-Don’t worry, we’re nearly there.

The Humvees stopped near the local hamlet, a small town inhabited by nearly 30 persons that been on edge ever since the Boston outbreak. The officer’s patrol, consisting on 9 other men, quickly deployed on their regular itinerary, while the lieutenant settled his command post in one of the nearby house.

20:43, May 16
In the forest.

Sergeant Joey was nervous. Something was wrong with this forest. He could sense it. He gripped his rifle more tightly. He then heard the lieutenant on the radio:

- Only 1 hour and 15 minute to go, boys. Then our patrol will be done. Try and not shoot anything. Stay frosty and it’ll be done before you even notice.
- Don’t worry, Lieutenant, said an eager voice, which Joey recognise to be the newest private in the squad. He just had been sent in to complete the patrol, since one the man was sick.
- I heard those damn creatures at Boston are drawn by sounds and light, so try and not draw them from everywhere, Alright? By the way, India convoy should be passing over here soon. Our last objective is to escort them through, then we’ll get a pickup home.

The Sarge, with a slight smile, proceeded a bit more calmly, when he heard a wolf howl… once.

Then the radio went mad.

-CONTACT! We've got Zulus! Requesting permission to engage..NOW!
-THERE’S SOME OVER HERE, LIEUTENANT. I’M ENGAGING! *A Grenade goes off in the distance*
-LIEUTENANT, WHAT THE HELL ARE THOSES!, said a fresh voice.
-GOD! THOSE THING ARE REALLY UGLY!
-OH MY GOD, THEIR ALL OVER HERE, HELP! *shooting sound, quickly followed by slashing sound*

Sergeant Joey nervously checked around him, and spotted a group of creatures shambling toward him. He proceeded to aim carefully, and shoot a few bullets at each. He then ran toward town, shouting out orders:

-FALL BACK TO TOWN!

20:46, May 16
In town.
Lieutenant Lewis was trying to reach the battalion and ask for support, but the channel was chaotic. As far as Lewis could tell, the attack which his men were victim of was a repeated story all over the whole sector, and even farther. The Zulus have been attacking en masse on all sides. This can’t be good, thought Carl.

He then heard Joey’s voice on the local TacNet.

-FALL BACK TO TOWN!
-ALRIGHT SARGE, MOVING ON, replied some voices.

Lewis proceeded to light up the area lantern, and drop a few illumination flares. Then his orders from battalion came:

-Sound like we’re facing some major attack by the zombie. We’re going to be dropping multiple supplies into your sector. There’s strong wind and chances are that the box will spread out. Iron Hand, Out.
-Roger that, Iron Hand, Over.

Suddenly arrived two of his men, carrying Pfc. Billy, who seemed to be injured. Lewis, having a basic medical formation, hurried to Billy.

-Drop him here. I’ll check him up.

It seemed that Billy was suffering a few scratches, as well as multiples holes in his M-9 combat Exoskeleton but nothing life threatening. Lewis applied some bandages and patched up Billy enough so that he could walk.

A roar was heard in the distance, and Sergeant Joey and 5 other man were hurrying, chased down by what seemed to be a mutated dog. Lance Corporal James proceeded to pick his rifle, aim, and shot a 7.62 round into the thick skull of the dog, shocking him enough for the rest of the squad to get away and shot the dog.

20:49, May 16
In town.

-Set up a defensive perimeter, shouted Lewis.

He then addressed to the civilians:

-Get inside your houses and wait. We'll get you an evacuation.
-But.. our belonging..?
-It the evacuation, or your life. Sorry, but we have no choice. This is officially a war zone.

Then the civilian went out mumbling.

-Alright. John, James, Joey, Billy, and Ebesius, you take the left side of the town. Fortify it. Ask reinforcement if need arise. Me and the rest of squad will take the right.

20:56, May 16
In town.

Lewis took aim and shooted a shambling zombie. He fell to the ground, never to rise again. The ground was shaking, for god know what reason, and it hardened the aiming.

-Lieutenant, we're running low on magazines. When will the supplies arrive? said Joey.

SHRAMB. A shockwave happent right behind them, as a crate fell on the ground and broke opent, revealing a couple magazine cases.

-Answer your question, Joey? replied Lewis.

Joey sighted and sent Ebesius take a few cases. They served themself and continued to aim for Zulus.

Then Sarah, the squad's only female member, and the Navy Corpsman attached to the platoon, shouted: Oh my god. What the hell is that thing?

She pointed toward a huge moulding of flesh that was slowly rushing to them, roaring, and cleavering tree, as well as stomping on the lesser Zulu's.

Lewis, staying calm ordered for the squad to focus all they had on it.

-SUPPRESIVE FIRE ON THAT BIG BASTARD!

Lewis pulled back a little and took his radio.

-Iron Hand, we have one hell of a big zulu over here. Requesting CAS.
-Affirmative. C-A-S is inbound. Iron Hand out.

Out of nowhere emerged 3 helicopters, which hastily squelched the nearby Zulu's. The flesh mound, however, proved to be a match for them, and menaged to squash two of the Helicopter before he finally caught on fire and burned to ashes.

-Everyone's alright? called Lewis.
-I read you clearly. No wound over here, replied Joey
-Neither here. However, the town is wrecked. We cannot wait for the evacuation any longer. Get the civilians out and lead them to India Company convoy should be passing over here soon. The civilian will have to take an hitch.

21:03, May 16
On the forest road.

Five truck appeared in the distance, surrounded by a military escort. Staff Sergeant William Wanka called them out:

-What the hell happent here, guys?
-The Zulu's attacked massively. Their on our heel, replied Lewis.
-You had to drag them here, did you?... Guy, get into defensive formation. The convoy is priority 1 and must be protected at all cost. Lewis, get your guy in front and clear the way. We cannot go any faster due the truck content's nature. Civilians, get behind the trucks and hurry.

A howl was heard in the distance, closely followed by barking sound. But beside startling the troops, no Zulu's appeared to attack massively. The travel went calmly up to about half the way.

-This can't be good. Zulu's wouldn't cease attacking as soon we met India for any reason, whispered Corporal Ebesius to Joey.
-I know, replied Joey. Then, seeing movement in the nearby foliage, he shouted: WATCHOUT!

Out of the nearby treeline appeared a dozen of those dog-like creatures. They jumped and landed on the civilians. Desesperate shouts were heard, but the marine couldn't shot, in fear of shooting one each other. Lewis then shouted: AIM FOR THE HEAD. BE CAREFUL, WE DO NOT WANT ANY FRIENDLY FIRE!

Then, Pvt. Jim let out a gasp. A large claw was deeply dug into his throat. A large, metallic like dog roared in defiance and throwed Jim's lifeless body on the ground.

Thomas shouted: What the fuck!? JIM! You're gonna pay for this, ****head!

He lift his machine gun and let out 5 salvo. All bounced onto the metallic sheet that was protecting the dog, without seeming to effect him.

MOVE AWAY!, Thomas heard. He promptly executed and the claw missed.

Next to him appeared Lewis and with a groan, promptly shooted a M320 grenade deep into the monster opent mouth. The creature let out a gasp, whimpered, before finally dieing..

William Wanka yelled out: STEP ON THE FUCKING GAS, DRIVERS! WE'RE GETTING TEARED APART!

The convoy went moving a little faster, but due to the nature of the convoy content, couldn't go that much quicker. They finally reached the edge of Sector E, which was the patrol ground. A few lose were to deplore, but beside Jim Rodriguez, all were convoy personel.

William Wanka shouted to Carl Lewis: Thanks for the hand... want a drive out of here?

Carl replied with a grin: Can't. Marine command probably got something really fun for us to do...

And, boy, was he right..
