This should go to Starlite Operations but posting there requires privileges.

Some of you may still remember me, but to those who haven't, I came from the same generation of players as killswitch, Stratoss, etc. Our generation worked very hard to bring Starlite to a level beyond just acclaimed mapmakers, but also an educational community in line with Azazel's and OneEyeSleepy's visions. I am always grateful that many have taken over to continue with map development, but Starlite also needs to progress forward in many areas. I propose the following:

1. Term/semester contracts as junior administrators offered to respected community members.
2. Continuity of support for the USMC and their endeavours.
3. Restore esteemed forum posts from old forum, especially those on intellectual matter and guides.
4. Rebrand Starlite back to an professional edutaining subculture within the WC3 community.
5. Prepare to port over NOTD:AM to Starcraft 2 as originally planned.

There is an issue that I do not condone:

Focus on medal games. The system is far from perfect, and many have changed their focused from being good communal players to medal whorers. We might even rework the system in line with selective realism.

Dear Alpha,

i must admit that i nver heard your name before, neither those of the other players u mentioned.

I am not sure if i understand every point of your post, but definitly 3 and 5.

As far as i know all informations from the old forum are lost. I doubt the guides will present a significant loss, though. There is the Forum of Clan Sad, the Most Active Community On US East, which has Europe and US West players in addition. Guides on classes, chapters etc, can be found there. And even if you manage to bring back the old forum, i think most of them will be outdated.

As u probable already know TheOnlyAce was the last one to focus on changing and developing the map. The problem is he is no longer active and left us 1.5d beta8 behind, which is far from perfect when it comes to fatal erros. He did not pass an unprotected version to anyone. So option 1 would be to hack the map, but from other mappers i heard that would no funny task, because the raw code is much harder to handle. Option 2 is to develop an own Map based on 1.5c Open Source. And that would a very hard and massive change, because TOA changed quite a lot in his versions. So it is a very big dilemna. We need a working Notd Version for WC3 before thinking about porting it over (primarily a No-Fatal Map). And even *if* that should be given in the future, porting the map over to SC2 could cause the community to split. Who says everyone is willing to buy SC2? Since Warcraft 3/TFT Servers are running for ca.8 year since 2002 (!), i predict it will keep living a long, long time. Blizzard still releases Patches for this game. Sometimes they might be some kind of awkward and surprising, but for me the message transmitted by this acting is: We (Blizzard) still care about this game.

Edit: The following Screenshot is the result of combining Teamplay with my own goals. On my long way of medal hunting, i always kept in mind this game is still a teamgame. According to this fact, i always picked classes that can both get some kills and help the team. This medal was the "peek" of my notd career and i am proud to possess it. In a similar way i am proud of having the 3rd and 4th service medal. Because all of these require a working and surviving team. No one is allowed to die, the only real difference to MoH is that you need kills like you need it for combat medals and there is a random chance of getting a MP awarded. I am not saying everything behaves like me when going for medals, i just wanted to state that teamplay and medals do not exclude each other.

With all the hundreds of different ways to make money on the internet one can easily find yourself trapped in an overload of information which brings you to a point of confusion or indecisiveness.
