Most people just use navy corpsman x.x. But I don't even care for medals. all they do is just take away 2 HP and give you like 2% speed and a tiny more damage/mana
Its true. Medals are fun because they are absolutly useless, hard to gain (such as MOH^^) and do not bring anything usefull.
I suppose this could be a thing to change in a future version of NOTD-AM 2.x
Get kills, dont get hit and do missions...Basily just play the game and you will gain medals eventually.Whoring medals just takes the fun away

Combat medals require High # of kills and high K : D.
Service medals require your team not dieing, and low aliment count.
Some medals require a certain number of missions to obtain points for.
Each time you meet the requirements for a medal, you have a chance to get a medal point, which you need 6 of to get a medal.
Each time you fail to meet the requirements for a medal, you have a chance to lose a medal point.
Pretty sure that medal points can't go below zero.

Actually, medals take SIX medal points, only drill ribbon is 7 medal points.

It's true that each medal only gives a very small bonus which is usually negligible on its own; when you have 5-10 of them it really adds up.
3-4 damage on a FB is quite a increase in his dps output; while the extra movement speed on the MG is nifty. Attack speed on the MM helps quite a bit. All those tiny bonuses aren't game changing; but they're nice to have and make the game slightly easier. The trade off is you can't tank as much - but you shouldn't be losing hp like that anyway, so it's no biggie.
Medals are overrated, be cool and join the 0 medals club with me.
the medal of honor gives you a nice damage boost and a nice drop in max hp
Dano, you just divided by 0.

Whoopsies, idk wtf I was thinking. Guess I was thinking that "GetStoredInteger(udg_MedalCache,I2S(id),"13")!=7" meant it stopped and awarded it at seven. Though the award code gives it to you at six :P

By the way, i've said it before and i'll say it again.
No medal will increases MS.
Ranks do, medals do not.
MoH only grants +2 attack damage. It is functionally identical to the DI Ribbon. The DI Ribbon bonus only works in the 1.5d beta's, in 1.5c (i think is a bug) the DI does not give the bonus.
i think a service medal is better than a combat medal cause mana regeneration is great

i'm pretty sure the moh causes your hp to go down but i don't remember by how much

Ok guys. We all get it: MEDALS ARE HARD TO EARN BUT ARE EVIL. ONLY GIVE VERY SMALL ATTRIBUTE BONUSES.

Right, by 2, just like all the other medals, i was talking about the bonuses. I was trying to point out that, in the functional sense, MoH doesn't do anything grandiose, although the damage boost might be somewhat noticeable on the FT or the MG. The MoH is a mark of outstanding and exemplary achievement NOTD:AM, as opposed to a buff like it is in NOTD II

If you've earned the medal of honor, +2 damage is probably going to be a much larger benefit compared to the loss of 2 hp. +2 damage over the course of the game could be like +infinity billion damage! Also you're supposed to be a notd ninja and not be getting hit.
Same thing with ranks I guess. The higher rank you are the better at the game you should be (though it's not always the case). You'd probably utilize the ms more than you would the health (hopefully).
Every month, 'least 1-3 peeps come asking this very same question... The lust for medals is so overrated.

Just look up the code and you will find what you were looking for.
Actually, medals take SIX medal points, only drill ribbon is 7 medal points.
Medals points count up to 6 and on the 7th you are awarded the medal. In short, medals take SEVEN medal points but the MOH only takes 6.
If you were a programmer you would already know this.
Example;
if GetStoredInteger(udg_MedalCache,I2S(id),"2")!=7 and udg_MedalAwarded[(id*100)+2]==0 then
if (kills>=300 and KillHitsRatio>10.0) or udg_MissionsCompleted>3 then
set udg_MedalAwarded[(id*100)+2] = 1
call StoreInteger(udg_MedalCache,I2S(id),"2",GetStoredInteger(udg_MedalCache,I2S(id),"2")+1)
elseif GetRandomInt(1,6-tierpenalty)==1 then
call StoreInteger(udg_MedalCache,I2S(id),"2",GetStoredInteger(udg_MedalCache,I2S(id),"2")-1)
endif
If the stored medal is not 7, meaning you haven't accumulated 7 to be awarded the medal then it checks your variables to see if you should be awarded another medal point. You can have up to 6 medal points, true, but you must be awarded 7 medal points to receive the medal.

you only need 6medal points to be awarded any medal. (yes dir too)
at the 6th point, you will get the drumroll medal award message, which at that instance change your variable to 7 when you save.
if it doesnt make sense to you, how bout like this, if it takes 7 medal point to get a medal, and 7being the cap of medal points,
wouldnt you keep getting a medal awarded message every single game ?

Rhadamant, you're mistaken. As MM said, you only need 6 medal points.
For instance, you can play a total of six games and qualify for the Navy Cross in each and every one of these (your medal points when you type -save at the end of the 6th game is now 6). Now, assuming there is no medal decay, the next time you load you will be awarded every medal up to and including the Navy Cross (it checks how many medal points you have when you -load, and it turns out you have 6).

trigger to award medal at 6points and locking it to 7 is somewhere under the functions
This has really de-generated from its original question he asked THE BEST WAY TO EARN MEDALS not how to. In my opinion i found the best way to earn combat medals was actually with the rifleman. he has a straight 1.0 kill factor and has the skill to hor kills and unlike the MG has a decent MS so he wont take too many hits on. Medics good for this aswell. Service medals? Those are tricky, I recemend pvt games with clan mates or LAN. You might be able to pull off the first 2 maybe even 3 if your lucky. And for the MoH Well thats just bloody impossible. It took me a week. Good friends and a lan to earn that. the DIR Fairly simple. just gotta have everyone alive by the end of the voy. and on boot camp thats quite do-able.

The fact that the first 2 service and combat can be achieved by simply having 4 missions complete makes them somewhat easy to get. Nothing tricky on these 2. 3 and 4 however are of different caliber, you have to pull your team alive through the chapters, wave 12 for service 3 and wave 15 for service 4. Once you reached this stage you can and should save. You could ofc safe later because it does not matter if anyone dies from now on, but ailments/hits could still fuck your medal point up.

I just remembered that I do have 1 medal. Lol
Someone's obviously not cool :)
